Dr. Rachel Panton is a Black women’s wellness scholar, a priestess of Ifa-Orisha, and the founder of Women’s Writing Wellness. Her most recent works have appeared in Black Women’s Mental Health: Balancing Strength & Vulnerability (2017, Evans, Bell, & Burton, Eds.) and the Race and Yoga Journal, where she served as co-editor on a special volume in 2017, and still serves as a reviewer.

I’m Dr. Rachel Panton, an Assistant Professor in the Department of Communication, Media, and the Arts in the Halmos College of Arts and Sciences at Nova Southeastern University. I’ve earned a Ph.D. in Educational Studies with a specialization in Adult Learning and Development using narrative research and portraiture methodology to write the life stories of three holistic Africana women community educators of South Florida.
